Product Description
This booklet will be divided into 5 different activities for students to investigate weight in a hands on manner! You can do these activities whole class, or you can make 5 different centers.

The first activity “Let’s compare!” students will use a scale, and compare the weight of different objects. Basically, here they are just understanding how a scale works, and how to determined what is heavier than, lighter than, or as heavy as… in a scale. Students can line up objects from lighter to heavier and then draw them in their science notebook.

The second activity “Do I, Or Do I Not?”, is a hands on activity that will give the students a visual confirmation that air occupies space, and has weight!

The third activity “Not Your Standard Way!”, is an activity that will give students a hands on experience weighing objects with different non standard units! After you do this activity, you can go on, to use standard measuring weights.

The fourth activity “Let’s Get Real!”, is an activity that will give students a hands on experience weighing objects with a standard measuring unit as grams. They will use a scale, and different weights 1g, 5g, 10g or 20g. They will figure out that heavier objects need heavier measuring weights to be measured.

The fifth activity “The Cotton Candy Experience” , is an activity that allows students to experiment with weight, but it will also give them a strong visual image of the difference between volume versus mass.

All these activities are included in the Full Pack, "We Matter!"
