This practice activity provides students with simple, but important practice with mechanical energy, potential energy and kinetic energy. Students analyze pictures and scenarios and identify the energy form or energy transformation taking place. The practice is best used after the "Energy Powerpoint" and the "Energy Guided Notes". I find it important to scaffhold the practice - to do a few of each type of problem together as a class, some with partners/groups, and maybe some individual. The practice is interesting and real-life relevant - as well as rigorous. The content standards-aligned to 7th-grade essential standards (Energy Unit).
