This lesson is an extension of the introductory unit for "What is Media Literacy?" Students apply everything they have learned in the previous lessons about the 5 Concepts of Media Literacy to analyze and "read" advertisements. Analysis centers around the key terms "misleading" and "deception." Students also create their own advertisements for an imaginary client using the tricks introduced in class.
My lessons include an interactive PowerPoint with instructional notes for the teacher in the "notes" section of the PPT. It also includes a complete and printable classwork packet for students in .docx form. Classwork includes a Do Now and Exit Ticket.
**As an extension, this lesson could be cut if time is short.
