This is a short Media Literacy activity unit designed to support student learning around the four commonly used persuasive texts in commercials. Students will learn what these four texts are. They will watch a variety of commercials that demonstrate each of these persuasive forms. They will then apply their new knowledge to a matching activity, two writing activities and an extension or bonus activity asking them to find their own commercial examples. This activity unit would be ideal for Junior age or Special Education students due to its simplistic, easy to read format. It would be easily differentiated for all types of learners. Given its PDF format, it is easily used on devices (iPads) and worked on using apps like "Notability."
