This lively set of four no-prep activities inspires students to connect literary characters to the modern world.
As they write radio essays, tweet, blog and program cell phones for their chosen characters, students will not only analyze character traits, but consider larger modern questions of style, marketability and audience.
These fun activities can function independently as lesson plans for any novel, be bundled in a unit series for a media-focused arc of activities, or be printed at the last minute for a substitute teacher.
If you like these activities, be sure to check out the categories along the left sidebar of my store. You can find many projects tailored to specific books you might be teaching, as well as dozens of activities adaptable to any ELA curriculum.
