Medieval Catapult Project-Force and Energy

This is a super fun project! You can really get into this project! I played Medieval music when the students walked into the room and tried to act like I was from that time period. I told my students that we were going back in time today and they loved it!

The students are split into kingdoms; they create a kingdom name, slogan, and flag. They then create castles out of playing cards (Dollar Tree has 2 in a pack for $1). Lastly, they build their catapults out of popsicle sticks and spoons.

The project is a lot of fun and directly relates to energy and force. You could also relate it to velocity if you measured the distance and time it took the projectiles to hit the castles.

This has been one of my favorite projects we have done this year!
