Students review Medieval Europe at its Height by completing a 26 event timeline activity and answering 4 questions. Events and people covered include but are not limited to the Crusades, the Black Death,100 Years' War, War of the Roses, Great Schism, Hussites, the Spanish Inquisition, Joan of Arc, and more! Students classify the items according to a system detailed in the instructions. They then complete one task for 8 items of their choice and a different task for 6 other items. There are arrows in the first two lines of the timeline showing students the direction to fill out the pieces in. The answers are included where appropriate and this could work for a sub!
Sample timeline items and questions include:
--Seljuk Turks conquer Palestine
--Black Death reaches Europe
-- 4th Crusade
--Great Schism begins
--Joan of Arc burned at stake
--Battle of Agincourt
--Richard III defeated on Bosworth Field
--King Edward IV’s sons locked in Tower of London
--Create a one line slogan to sum up the effect of the Crusades OR the Black Death on Europe.
--What do you consider the lowest point of this time in Medieval Europe and why? Would historians agree with you, why or why not?
