This is a small group reader's theater is for 4 students. This ties science into reading and is a great way to do two things at the same time. This script was intended to introduce or remind students of the water cycle and some of its vocabulary.
In the script - When Ivette is asked who her favorite superhero is, she says it is water. No one else agrees with her until she explains everything that water and the sun can do.At the end of the script, students are asked to draw and label the water cycle - including heat energy from the sun. Make sure students look at the vocabulary on the front page.
I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they need. Most of my scripts are in black and white with only a little color on the picture on front so they photo copy easily and do not waste ink. The problem with many other reader's theaters is that students spend a lot of time waiting for their part. When you have a small group they get more practice and you get less off task behaviors.
My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone and I hope that your students enjoy this script as much as mine did. If you like this script look for more science related scripts at my store. Please let me know how things go!
