This elementary school counseling classroom guidance lesson introduces students to the role of the school counselor! Use a ready-to-show or editable PowerPoint to tell students what the counselor does and does not do. Review this role using a digital, paperless activity (compatible with Google Slides) or with true/false cards in a movement-based cooperative group game or non-competitive activity. Students then create a s'mores craft to review the counselor's role!
Includes lesson plan (objectives, outline/script, materials list, ASCA standards alignment, suggested process, perception, and outcome data), pre-test/post-test, ready-to-show PowerPoint, editable PowerPoint, link to digital activity (opens with Google Slides), true/false game cards and mat, student craft, and objectives assessment checklist.
This lesson includes my Meet the Counselor Digital Activity for Back to School
. What's the difference between these two resources? This resource includes a lesson plan, pre-test/post-test, and 2 printable handout options. The other includes only a PPT and digital Google Slides activity.
