About the Video:

In Berlin, Germany, you can still see neo-Nazi stickers and graffiti on walls and in public places. But the brave activist featured in this video, 71-year-old Irmela Mensah-Schramm, has made it her mission to erase these symbols of hate. You can find this former school teacher on the streets almost every day, replacing swastikas with hearts and removing stickers from park benches.

How your students will benefit from this ESL lesson:

  • Focus on spoken English. Your students will learn how to express themselves with more ease and comfort by learning useful English vocabulary and expressions. Those who are struggling with understanding fast English speakers will also improve their listening and comprehension skills.
