“Hey! That robot just munched our melody!” is what your students will be saying with these two fun, interactive, animated PowerPoints that helps practice musical memory.
Using the song “Love Somebody” your students will review the song (notation and game is included at the end of the file). Then they will practice the beat, reading the rhythm of the song and then the solfége of the song. After a few times reading through the song Valentine Robots appear and “swipe” parts of the song. Sometimes one beat is removed at a time & sometimes two beats are munched. By the end your students will be performing the song from memory! Giggles are sure to ensue as the song disappears before their eyes!
In addition to the melodic file there is a rhythm only game! This is great for your younger grades that might be able to read four sixteenth notes but aren't practicing fa yet!
Rhythms included in this file (these are NOT specific to a counting system so it will work with whichever rhythm durations syllables you use in your classroom):
ta (quarter note)
ti-ti (barred eighth notes)
tika-tika/tiri-tiri (four sixteenth notes)
Melodic elements included (written in stick notation):
