Help your students write an outstanding memoir with the Memoir: The How Many Topics-Maggy Activity. This can be printed onto a transparency or passed out as handouts. Students read an example of an unfocused memoir and have the opportunity to see how many topics they can break the paragraph into. Students will see that a focused memoir focuses on the specific details of one memory, not a general memory that spans several years. The bottom section lists five possible topics from the paragraph that would each be better topics for the memoir than what was in the example paragraph. Extra information about focus and some brief directions are provided at the top. This document is included in the Focus and Leads MINI Unit All-in-One DEAL and the Memoir Curriculum MEGA Unit All-in-One DEAL.
