Students will create a 5 to 10-page, keepsake, memory book of their Senior/Junior year. (or 8th grade year)
This engaging, creative writing project is great for the end of the semester or end of the year. Students will use the narrative and imaginative writing modes to create 5 short essays or stories that reflect on their time in high school. This project also makes use of visuals and graphic arts design for producing the memory book. This assignment can also be modified for middle school students who are "graduating" up to high school.
Included are prompts for writing narrative articles or stories about the student's personal experiences, project requirements etc. This handout is in word format and teachers can modify it to suit their classes.
I've had students tell me many years after they've graduated that this project is far more valuable to them than their yearbooks. They keep these!
