I have created a memory book that can be created by your student's at the end of the school year. It contains several pages that will allow students to review and reflect on the many fun activities they have encountered throughout the school year, but this memory book has a different twist! This is a book that you will collect from your students and keep to give to your new students on the first day of school. The book will be given to your new students and will contain advice for your new students. Your previous students will tell your new students about you, their new teacher, tips of things to do and things not to do, as well as provide the new student with their top 10 list of favorite things that they did from the previous year. Several frames have been included for students to draw pictures of themselves, of you, and of their #1 favorite activity for the school year.
I have used this "survival/memory" book in my classroom for several years and my students LOVE it. My old students love the fact that they get to communicate with my new students. My new students like having advice from my former students. It also gives them something to look at while they are getting settled into the classroom on the first day of school. They always get excited when it is their turn to create the memory/survival book for next year's students. It is a great activity!
The product has been personalized to be used for students in the third, fourth, or fifth grades. I believe this product could be used with any intermediate class. The writing levels for each page can be modified based upon the grade level.
