I use this activity during my Cognition and Language unit in my AP Psychology class.
After learning about memory, students complete a memory map. They are asked to draw pictures and describe sixteen (16) memories of theirs from various points throughout their life. In addition, students must properly label each memory under the appropriate category (explicit memories such as semantic or episodic memories and implicit memories such as procedural memories).
The activity is meant to help students reflect on their most important memories in life while also helping them learn and apply the types of memory labels.
