Update August 15, 2017: I've added another version of the games with the graphics eliminated so that the games can be played year-round. This resource now has 7 memory games in two versions which include a spring themed version and a version that can be played year-round.
Do your students need more practice with sight words? These memory matching sight words games target the first 50 Fry words. They will make a great paired learning activity! Each sheet in this file is its own game and targets 7 or 8 words. There are seven games in all. This is best played when children are paired with a classmate.
You will need small plastic eggs or plastic milk bottle caps to cover the words on the game sheets. If you use plastic eggs, separate the two halves of each egg to cover the words. Children collect egg halves or milk caps as they find matching words.
Plastic milk bottle caps can be used in place of plastic eggs. If you wish to use milk bottle caps, ask your students' parents to start collecting them in advance of using the memory games.
