If so, this product is for you.

Included in this resource are a series of lessons jam packed with activities and projects that relate to mental health in kid appropriate language. Here is a breakdown of the lessons:

Lesson 1: What Is Mental Health? (Students learn what mental health is and how it differs from their physical health.)

Lesson 2: Word Power! (Students learn that they can describe their feelings in different ways with less intense and more intense words. Students learn that their word choice relates to how they are feeling)

Lesson 3: Hidden Feelings (Students learn that feelings can be masked by underlining feelings. A student may appear angry but it is because they are hurt, for example)

Lesson 4: How To Deal (Students identify effective strategies to help them deal with their feelings and brainstorm additional strategies that they feel may help them)

Lesson 5: The Feelings Detective (Students examine facial expressions to determine how people are feeling. It is discussed how important this skill is when socializing with others)

Lesson 6: Different but the Same! (Students learn how/why people may respond to the same event in completely different ways. Students analyze scenarios and discuss why this happens)

Lesson 7: Eyes and Ears Make a Difference (Students learn how important eye contact and active listening are when it comes to being an effective communicator)

Lesson 8: Stress vs. Anxiety (Students distinguish the difference between stress and anxiety and establish their understanding by applying their learning to a variety of written scenarios)

Lesson 9: Show What You Know (Students create a play based on a list of suggested topics that relate to what they have learned so far)

Lesson 10: Magnificent Mindfulness (Students are introduced to the concept of mindfulness and learn how strategies such as deep breathing, will help them achieve a more mindful attitude)

Lesson 11: I Messages (Students explore respectful ways to communicate their feelings using the I Message technique)

Lesson 12: What Is a Boundary? (Students identify what boundaries are and review scenarios to discuss when boundaries are and aren't being crossed)

Lesson 13: Consent is Cool (Students are introduced to the concept of consent and why it is important. They learn how to practice giving and not giving consent in challenging scenarios and evaluate if consent was given in written reviews)

Lesson 14: Super Self Esteem (Students learn what self esteem is and how it relates to mental health. Students evaulate their own self esteem and review the difference between bragging and being proud of themselves. The introduction of mantras as a way to promote healthy self esteem is also introduced in this lesson)
