Major Update 3/21/15!!
This resource includes SUPPLEMENTAL resources to assist you in teaching common mental and emotional health concepts. Although I've included some background and ideas on the concepts, these are not complete lessons with teaching points and steps. Instead, I created these to supplement our current 3rd grade health curriculum. These have been so helpful for my students to reflect on this sometimes tricky concepts to teacher and because they are pretty open ended, they can be used with other grade levels or individual students to build positive mental and emotional health.
These allow your students to reflect and add their own content. My students LOVED doing there interactive pages in a lap-book style format, but you could use them in notebooks too!
Feelings (comfortable vs. uncomfortable)
I-Messages (2 different options)
I included colored photos of each interactive page along with a short description on how I used it in my room, student prep suggestions, and gluing/assembly directions to offer you support.
These are great for reflection or brainstorming and are also included in case you are short on time. They cover most of the same content such as:
Unique Me (positive self image)
Self Esteem (positive self esteem)
Web of Influences (identifying influences)
A Letter to my Role Model (role model)
Deep Breathing (stress management)
Feelings (comfortable vs. uncomfortable feelings)
I-message (communicating feelings)
*Short teacher guide comments at the end of the document.
