CCSS 2.NBT.B.8 Mentally add 10 or 100 to a given number 100-900, and mentally subtract 10 or 100 from a given number 100-900.
Students take turns choosing cards and generating equations to solve on their recording sheet. This fun partner activity is great for math centers. Once they learn this simple game, you can use it all year long! In my classroom, I have a basket full of games for previously-learned skills that students may choose to practice during centers. Once students get the hang of it, there is no need to run off the recording sheets, as students can be taught to write the equations in their math notebooks. How much easier could it get?
All problems can be solved mentally, and no combinations require regrouping.
