This free download provides an overview and a planning scope and sequence guide to help teachers plan long-term for their conventions instruction to prepare students for fifth grade and the Texas State Writing Test.
Several different formats are included for different planning purposes.

- Second Nine Weeks: More grammar, capitalization and punctuation
- Third Nine Weeks: Spelling patterns
- Fourth Nine Weeks: Figurative language
