Product Description
Print and go! Mentor sentences are a great way to practice various elements of writing style. Students use model or "mentor" sentences as examples in constructing their own sentences. These worksheets are a great break from rote-drilling and instruction, and instead allow students to implement their creativity as they write.

This worksheet demonstrates ways to use internal transitions to create better flow in writing. I use this worksheet with both my high school and college English students. As a result, I always see an improvement in student writing.

This activity can be purchased at a discount as part of my Writing Style: Unit Bundle! With twenty-two pages and ten activities, this bundle has everything you need to improve writing style, and includes lessons on concision, register, replacing "to be" verbs, omitting "I", periodic sentence structure, transitions, and quote integration. I use these lessons in both my high school and college English courses. As a result, I always see an improvement in student writing.
