Print and go! Mentor sentences are a great way to practice various elements of writing style. Students use model or "mentor" sentences as examples in constructing their own sentences. These worksheets are a great break from rote-drilling and instruction, and instead allow students to implement their creativity as they write.
This worksheet demonstrates ways to use internal transitions to create better flow in writing. I use this worksheet with both my high school and college English students. As a result, I always see an improvement in student writing.
