What is a “Mentor Text Moment” resource?
These lesson sets are geared toward helping teachers present the Common Core to their grades 3-5 students by using read aloud picture book texts! In addition to thinking deeply about texts, the Common Core stresses citing evidence to prove understanding. Mentor texts are excellent examples of literature and the elements you notice in them can then be reinforced throughout students’ other reading and writing. This resource can help and is based upon Eve Bunting's book "The Memory String".
Let this resource help you push your students’ thinking!
