Product Description
Students will love practicing multiple percent problems with this activity. Students will create their own meal from a restaurant menu. Just print off a to-go menu from your favorite restaurant or let students Google the menus for themselves. (To-go menus don't include alcoholic beverages!) Students will then calculate the total cost of their meal with a discount, sales tax, and a tip WITHOUT A CALCULATOR. This activity corresponds with CCSS 7.RP.3.

Included:
- Part 1: Teacher Example
- Part 2: Group Meal (practice splitting the check)
- Part 3: Individual Example
*In each part, students will apply the same coupon, tax, and tip.

***Suggestion: Turn this activity into a competition. Grade each assignment for accuracy. (This takes a while.) Put all the names of students who accurately calculated their individual bills in a hat and draw a few winners. Those winners get lunch or dinner from that restaurant!
