These task cards work on the skill of reading real menus. Each task card asks a question about the menu. There are factual questions, evaluation/opinion questions, and comparison questions. There are 44 task cards in all.
-What kind of restaurant is it?
-Does the restaurant serve lunch?
-What is the least expensive lunch item? How much does it cost?
-Which menu has more sections?
Please note: these task cards require real menus. The comparison questions require two menus. It is important for students to have practice with and to apply their reading skills to real items.
The cards can be used for instruction, guided practice or independent work. The student can answer these questions using a dry erase marker, on a separate sheet of paper, or by verbal response.
A data sheet and an answer key template have also been included.
