I created an outdoor station rotation to review concepts about Mesopotamia. This product includes 6 stations and an answer key. There are 4 academic stations in which the students must answer questions or label a map. there are 2 fun stations in-between the academic stations.
I set up the 6 stations by printing out the directions and questions and spacing them out on the blacktop. I split my students into groups of 4 or 5 and gave them one answer key. Each group started at a different station. the students had to work together to complete their answer key. I gave about 5 minutes for each station. Once the 5 minutes was up the students had to get their answer key and run to the next station. I gave a prize to the group that had the most correct answers.
My students loved the fact that they were moving around and working outside. They really enjoyed the fun stations that gave them a break in-between some of the academic stations.
I gave the students printed out copies of the chapter at each station. At the top of each station I included a chapter and section to look at for the answers. We use the Holt World History Ancient Civilizations textbook. If you do not use this text book you can delete these or add your own chapters and sections. I made this on a word document so it is easy to edit.
