A metaphor is an implied comparison of two UNLIKE/DIFFERENT objects (nouns). For example, you could compare love to a rose, a doodlebug to an igloo, hair to a straw broom, and so on. For this activity, you are to compare each listed noun to an unlike object. Remember, you are not to compare people to people, animals to animals, inanimate objects to inanimate objects. This lesson is terrific for teaching metaphors. My kids really got it right off the bat!
