This handouts accompany the power point labeled Metaphor Monday. The power point includes links to audio for weeks 21-30, but each product could be done independently. I use these worksheets as a timed writing activity to begin class on Mondays (after one week of introductory instruction and one week of modeling the activity). Students begin by learning to analyze metaphors in songs in weeks 1-10. Then, they move on to famous lines of frequently studied literature. In the last 10 weeks, students learn how to analyze a poem in its entirety.
