Product Description
This product was used in my special needs 9th grade literature class. Before tackling Romeo and Juliet we spent a week analyzing the figurative language in Shakespeare's Sonnet 18.

This worksheet introduces the concept of Metaphor and Simile and provides opportunity for students to write their own. After being introduced to the concept, students read the sonnet and interpret the metaphors being used.

My students enjoyed this activity and allowing them to compare their "love" to a summers day helped them to understand this poem in a more personal way.
