This slideshow guides AP English Literature and advanced poetry students through an analysis of Sylvia Plath's poem, "Metaphors." It is designed to introduce advanced analysis by asking critical thinking questions to students as they explore the poem line by line. Slide notes are included in the powerpoint version and are collected in a document to act as a teacher's guide. This lesson is designed to take 15-30 minutes but expansion activities and writing prompts are included. Each file is available in both PDF and Microsoft Office form and is fully editable.

This poem lesson is also a part of my giant Introduction to Poetry bundle, which introduces AP Lit and advanced poetry students to analyzing poetry.

This resource is included in my AP Lit Full Course Bundle!
