This is a power point designed to help students identify metaphors and similes. There are 15 slides. These slides introduce metaphors and similes and give examples of each. Given sentences, students will identify each as either containing a metaphor or a simile. Next, they will identify the two items being compared. Last, they will explain the meaning of each metaphor or simile. Answers are provided for the practice slides throughout the presentation. My fourth graders enjoyed reading and participating in this power point presentation. It is aligned to common core and a great way to teach figurative language!
