We all know that most guitar method books go way too fast for beginning guitar classes! Books give one or two songs about the notes E, F and G, and by the next page students are expected to be able to play Ode to Joy!! Some students can do this, but many class guitar students cannot, and quickly get frustrated. For some, guitar class is their first real music reading experience. Others were placed in the class due to past difficulties in other academic classes. Students (and teachers) find themselves “stuck” on page 8, because teachers know they are not ready to go on, while students feel “bored” doing the same pages again and again (even if they haven’t learned all the concepts they need to continue successfully)
These supplements are intended to serve as a way for guitar class teachers to give their students something “new”, while continuing to reinforce the notes and rhythms that have not yet been mastered. Special thought was given to limiting the technical demands of the music, in order for the students to concentrate on note recognition, as well as to develop their coordination at a more appropriate speed than most guitar method books allow.
I have numbered this supplement “1”, because I intend to make additional supplements for the same E string notes. In addition to making multiple supplements for the E string notes, I will also post supplements for the other strings as well.
This is NOT a pencil and paper worksheet. This is a method book SUPPLEMENT
This supplement is specifically for GUITAR.
