About the Author
My name is Jessicca and I am a Metis/Cree teacher. I was born and raised in Nanaimo B.C. Along with being a teacher author and Teacher Pay Teacher seller, I have three years of experience teaching grade 2-4 at an First Nations On Reserve school. Additionally, I have two years of experience working as a coordinator of an urban Aboriginal preschool program.
I love having the opportunity to share my Metis heritage and culture with others, and I hope this resource helps many students learn about Metis culture and history in a fun way. My goal when writing this unit was to write a unit about Metis culture and traditions in such a way so that Metis students would feel proud when they learned about their own heritage.
