These task cards can be use when introducing the concept of converting units within the metric system. I teach a lesson prior to use on metric conversions using the ladder method. This is a great reinforcement too to converting metric length, volume, and mass. There are 20 task cards in all.
I have students rotate through the room and complete the task cards by recording their information on a separate sheet (included). They love doing this and it gives them a chance to get up and move around.
This file is a Microsoft Word file that is editable so you may change the task cards to fit your students’ needs. I have a few different versions in my room depending on my students’ prior knowledge and skill level. I also have a set for my inclusions students.
I suggest limited 2 students per task card at a time. I tell the students they do not have to complete the task cards in order, just be sure to fill the answer in the appropriate space in the recording sheet. The task card-recording sheet is included.
**** Print the task cards on printer paper and laminate, so you can use them again and again.
