Description
This paper is step one in converting metric units. Students color the top arrow green, because moving that way increases the number of units. Write x10 next to it, because each column is an increase multiplied by ten.The bottom arrow should be red, maked with a division sign and 10, because each step toleft is a division of units by ten. Write the different units on sticks. Working in partners kids can roll dice and pick a stick. The value on the dice should be written in the column that is written on the stick they pull. Then they do the rest of the converting. :) Come to my page for the powerpoint that tells King Henry's sad story.

Great Resource
This was a great resource and my kids really responded well to it! Thank you for creating it!
I love that this was editable so that I was able to add a word for U (unit). My kids really enjoyed this as a math tool!
I used this as part of my interactive notebook----students need visuals to help understand the conversions from one unit to another unit----this was a simple method to use
Nice works
Great resource, thank you!
Thank you! :)
This was a great non-formal assessment to see how well my 6th graders understood the metric system.
Great resource! Thank you!
