Mexican Folk Songs for GUITAR *Color & B+W* (Grades 6-12)
The Mexican Folk Songs for Guitar is a wonderful resource for the music classroom - a great way to incorporate Latin music and culture. It can be used for grades 6-12 (can also be used for higher or lower grades, depending on how advanced your students are).
**The Mexican Folk Songs for Guitar resource is aligned with the current NATIONAL CORE ARTS STANDARDS
and meet approximately eight (8) standards (listed within the resource).**
This resource includes the sheet music, chords, and guitar tablature for three Mexican folk songs:
”The Mexican Clapping Song”
All three songs included in the Mexican Folk Songs for Guitar packet have been created in both COLOR
(for high-quality B+W printing), so if you need to make large quantities of black and white copies, you can still print great looking/high-quality music on a black and white printer.
The chords are written in between the tablature system and the music system, and the chord diagrams are below each song.
Other concepts that can be discussed include:
*Reading music vs. tablature
*Sections such as the introduction, verse, and chorus
*Rhythms that use quarter notes and eighth notes
