Celebrate Mexican Independence Day with your students in a fun and educational way.
This activity page can be used for any Level of Spanish and includes:
1. A paragraph-length description of Mexican Independence Day in Spanish with notes to the teacher on Reading Comprehension strategies that can be taught or reiterated during the lesson.
2. A list of the 31 States of Mexico and an accompanying activity that allows students to make educated guesses as to which are the largest (geographically) and which are the smallest.
3. A word search that contains key words from the paragraph and the States of Mexico that I crafted to support word recognition.
4. There is also space for student reflection using K-W-L with an artistic element.
I think that this activity page has multiple applications and will become a great addition to your teaching toolbox. Not only will it be great addition to you lessons plans for Mexican Independence Day. I think that it could also be used effectively as a homework assignment, multi-day bell ringer, it could be included in your substitute teacher plans, and even an activity for students during snow days.
