A very quick and easy activity for preschool students learning about Mexico's holiday, Dia de los Muertos, which celebrates and remembers our dead loved ones.
For this holiday, families put out an ofrenda, or offering to the spirits of their deceased relatives.
In this activity, students cut out traditional items from an ofrenda, color them, and paste them onto their own ofrenda. When you're finished, you can turn the worksheets into a bulletin board!
The six items on this ofrenda are:
--Calavera de azúcar = A sugar skull
--Fotos de queridos = pictures of loved ones
--Velas = candles
--Comida = food
--Flor de cempazuchitl = marigold
--Pan de muerto = bread of the dead
