Pg. 3 “We” page – practice writing the word “we”- roll the dice each time to see what color to write it with (colored pencils work best) – illustrate the word and use it in a sentence – the sentence part can be dictated
Pg. 4 Roll and Write! - roll the dice to see how many times to write the letter “Tt” on each line
Pg. 5-8 The “at” Family! – cut out the bat and cut on the dark dotted lines to form openings – cut out the letter strip and put in up through one opening and down through the opening – move the letter strip up and down to form words – copy pages A and B of the My Family “at” Word Book back to back – record your “at” family words from the bat into the book
Pg. 9-13 Tiggy Tiger – copy the T’s onto orange paper – color the stripes black – copy all the patterns onto the appropriate colored paper – add the orange outer ear and the inner pink ear, add the pink nose, add the wiggle eyes and the black yarn tail, finally add the two teeth – color the whiskers on
Pg. 14-20 T is for Teeth! – copy all the patterns onto appropriate colored construction paper – you can use the colors in the image or do your own color combination – glue only the teeth that have pictures that start with T into the bottom of the mouth – glue the tongue in first and then glue the teeth around the edge of the mouth, add the eyes to the top layering from large to small, add the arms and legs to your creature
Pg. 21-22 Sensory Words! Let’s Illustrate! – cut out the book and fold it accordion style – read the short sentences with the sensory word – draw and color a picture to go with each sentence
Pg. 23-24 Understanding Me! What makes you… - a foldable book - draw a picture to show what makes you mad, happy, and sad
Pg. 25-32 Let’s Go To The Zoo! – help gather the animals by reading your High-Frequency Words and placing them onto your game board – if you already have an animal on your game board then lose a turn – whoever gets all the animals on their game board first – wins
Pg. 33-36 Mice Squeak, I Speak! – Copy off the face onto whatever skin color is appropriate, copy off and cut out the speech bubble – use the page with printed strips for hair – copy onto different shades of hair color – students can cut it to any length or even curl it with a pencil – glue everything onto an 15in of construction paper that has been cut down from an 18in one – students can write whatever they want to “say” in their speech bubble – “I like…” “____ makes me happy” etc.
