Have students who can't stop talking basketball? Capture their love for sports with this STEM unit about two of the greatest basketball players of all time! In this unit, students will use Language Arts, Mathematics, and Technology skills to determine which player is the best. A detailed unit guide is included along with these 7 activities:
Activity #1 = Students will read 2 passages on Michael Jordan and LeBron James followed by reading comprehension questions.
Activity #2 = Students will create a Bar Graph comparing the statistics of the two players as well as a Line Graph comparing wins per season between the two players.
Activity #3 = Students will complete a Venn Diagram in which they will compare and contrast the two players
Activity #4 = Students will calculate the mean, median, and mode of real life statistics from both LeBron James and Michael Jordan
Activity #5 = Students will analyze several statements to determine fact or opinion
Activity #6 = Students will complete a WebQuest on one of the two players
Activity #7 = Students will create a PowerPoint presentation about the two players
Optional Activities = Final Debate / Real Life Posters
