This is a video guide based on the excerpt (around 10 minutes) on Senegal from Michael Palin's Sahara documentary (can be found in libraries and on Amazon). It is mostly in English with a short interview in French.
All in French, it includes pre-watching, watching, and post-watching questions. I have my students do the pre-watching questions in partners, watch the video 3+ times while answering objective comprehension questions, then have the students do post-watching questions in partners. Then we go over it as a class and it leads to a bit more of a discussion about Senegal and perceptions of.
It includes color photos of my own trip to Senegal which you can manipulate.
As this shows the host interviewing a Muslim woman, Islam is a theme of this lesson.
