Michelangelo Webquest and Video Analysis with Key- this is a 14 page document that contains a webquest and a completed teachers key for easy marking. It contains 24 questions based on a video and readings from Biography.com and History.com.
Students will first be asked to watch a video on the Biography.com website which will discuss three of Michelangelo's most famous works: the Sistine Chapel, the Pieta, and the sculpture of David. The beauty and skill required to create these works are presented to students in a quick and easy fashion. Following the video, students will read an article on Biography.com about the life of Michelangelo. His youth, apprenticeship, career, and later life are all covered. His pride in the City of Florence and his time in Rome working for the Catholic Church are discussed and how these things affected his work. Students will then proceed to the History.com website where they will learn more about Michelangelo's other talents: architecture and poetry. This webquest contains many images of Michelangelo's work so students can see for themselves the beauty and awe inspiring work he created.
This webquest can be easily used as an introduction to the topic, a study guide, or a quick and easy sub plan.
