This activity is designed to be a progression of lab activities where students learn how to use a compound light microscope to observe onion and human cheek cells, then analyze the differences between plant and animal cells. Students can work independently, or in cooperative groups, to complete each task. Each task card is very detailed and contains specific information, drawings, and helpful hints. The teacher is able to work with small groups of students as opposed to whole class teaching. This activity makes for a very student centered classroom!
