In my new series of Excel assignments, students will learn Excel on a deeper level using the video method. In this method, students watch a video that shows how to do each feature in the assignment, but does not take them through the actual assignment. The video now includes a Table of Contents, which allows the student to skip or re-watch needed features. The student then uses the step by step directions to complete the assignment with a provided starter.
This method has proven more effective than traditional demonstration, as it requires a higher level of thinking and retention. In this final Lesson, students will use data validation, naming ranges, and Vlookup tables to create drop down menus in an order form. This lesson is designed for students to do on their own, and is purposefully advanced and more challenging. In my classes, only my most advanced students get this far, and so its a great lesson to challenge them while the other students are catching up.
This lesson is NOT YET CLASSROOM TESTED! I would appreciate any feedback you are willing to give, especially if there are any errors I will miss.
