Microsoft Excel 2016 Project- Films (Highest Grossing of All Time)
This is a fun project for students to do at the end of a unit on Microsoft Excel to demonstrate what they have learned. For this project students will utilize a website to obtain data about the top 10 highest grossing movies of all time. UNDERSTAND EACH TIME YOU DO THIS ASSIGNMENT THE MOVIE DATA MORE THAN LIKELY WILL BE DIFFERENT. Students will have a handout to record the data. Students will then enter that data in Excel and be responsible for doing various things such as formatting cells, resizing rows and columns, merging cells, applying fill colors, inserting comments, sort and filter, name ranges, use functions and formulas, insert and rename sheets, and so much more. Students will also be responsible for using their data to create a column chart. Students should really enjoy this activity.
Included in this download is a zip file folder that contains a very detailed direction sheet and a very detailed evaluation sheet for the project. It also includes a sample solution and a sheet for students to record their data. Understand again that the movie data will usually be different each time you do the activity. The data in the solution key provided will constantly change.
Please see the preview file for the sample solution. Again, movie data will always be changing but it is good to show the students what is expected of them when you go over the project.
