Looking for ways to increase critical thinking, engagement, and enhance student understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint? This hands-on product based learning consists of 2 parts. Part 1 tasks small groups with the responsibility to research 2 - 3 navigation / ribbon tabs and groupings and record findings in a shared notes chart. Part 2 tasks student groups to 'become the teacher' and demonstrate the functionality of assigned PowerPoint navigation features while utilizing online meeting software and screen recording software mimicking a real work training session. Includes detailed instructions, shared notes chart, and graphic organizer. Versatile use: introduction, review, or capstone project. Lesson time is 2 - 4 hours. This is a great activity for courses in business, computer applications, CTE, etc.
This is fully editable in Microsoft Word and can easily be converted to Google Docs. It includes:
- Meaningful substitute work
- Fun, informative unit review or engaging activity
- Invigorates learning environment
- Develops research skills
- Fosters team building & collaboration
