In Lesson 8, students will learn to create a document using advanced column and table features, and will convert the document into a form using the Developer tab. They will also learn alphabetizing, how to crop an image, and how to remove a background. This is a great assignment for your quick learners--it will keep them occupied and engaged while your slower learners are catching up on the other assignments.
In my new series of Word assignments for grades 8-12, students will learn Word on a deeper level using the video method. In this method, students watch a video that shows how to do each feature in the assignment, but does not take them through the actual assignment. The process of watching, remembering, repeating, and checking again requires the student to think more deeply and thus they remember the material much better than just by following a teacher who is demonstrating.
The video now includes a Table of Contents, which allows the student to skip or re-watch needed features. The student then uses the step by step directions to complete the assignment with a provided starter. This allows students to go at a quicker or slower pace, depending on their own abilities.
This method has proven more effective than traditional demonstration, as it requires a higher level of thinking and retention. It also allows the instructor to give more one on one time with those who need additional help.
File includes step by step instructions, the key, a starter, and and image required. It also has the the video in two formats--one in the basic MP3 format, and the other with the Table of Contents, which plays online. It also includes a full 24-slide Power Point with images.
This assignment is not yet classroom tested, but will be shortly. Please let me know if there are any errors I've missed.
