Little readers are 8 page books that provide children an opportunity to practice reading words in context and to help build confidence and develop fluency. The text follows a predictable pattern and is supported by images, making them ideal for emergent readers and English language learners in the classrooms. The last page includes sight words or vocabulary learned in the text. It allows students a chance to read and recognize words out of context.
The little readers can be used while working with the entire class, in small groups, or one-on-one with individual children. They can also be assigned as homework for additional practice to reinforce sight words or vocabulary learned in the classroom. They can also be used in class during independent reading practice or in a learning center. Illustrations are black and white so they can be colored by students. Many of the sentences in the easier readers include color words. Students demonstrate comprehension of the sentences when they color the pictures correctly.
This reader introduces students to the Mid-Autumn Festival. It comes in two levels. The sight word reader teaches the words we and will. The higher level reader asks students comprehension questions on the last page. It includes two templates to create a class book.
