The Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated by the Vietnamese and Chinese on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Lunar calendar. Children parade the streets singing and carrying lanterns. Here are moon hats and lanterns for your children to wear to celebrate this festival.
*Moon hats (in Vietnamese and Chinese Mandarin) in color and B&W
*2 Lantern designs (in Vietnamese and Chinese Mandarin) in color and B&W
Hats: Print in color for a teacher sample. Print in B&W on white cardstock or construction paper and have your students color the pictures and words. Glue to a sentence strip or attach the extender band using tape or glue. Measure to fit and tape or staple.
Lanterns: Print in color for a teacher sample. Print in B&W on white zerox paper. Staple a bright colored paper behind each template and fold in half. Cut on dotted lines. Open, gather at top and bottom and staple. Staple the handle to the top of lantern.
