Mid Year Reflections
: Why wait until the end of the year to get kids to reflect on the year! Take a moment at the halfway point to see what they thinking, how they feel about certain topics. It's just a fun way to get your kids writing and sharing.
What can you do with these posters? They are perfect to display in the hall or to keep in their writing journal. Just fold it in half and glue in. You can bind them into a class book for students to read. The list goes on and on..... use it however you would like in your classroom.
The poster is 8.5 x 11 (landscape).
There are TWO posters included: One for a male teacher and one for female. The pronouns are changed.
The sections for the students to fill out are:
**place for name... " _____'s mid-year reflections"
**One thing I have realized I really shine at is ___. I know this because.....
**One thing I have realized I really need to work on is ____. I know this because....
**Now that I have gotten to know my teacher, I would use these adjectives to describe her....
**Oh my! It was so funny when....
**A goal I hope to meet before the end of the year....
**Acrostic poem for the word: halfway ( focus on words/phrases about school so far this year)
**My thoughts.... (on 6 topics)... things like 'homework is...', or 'At recess....."
**Snapshot (illustration) of a mid year memory.
Encourage your kids to fill in the entire writing space... offering other info, elaborating on the sentence starter, sharing more, etc.
Use as a center activity or even as morning work. Use it in your classroom however you would like.
