Product Description
Students examine short summaries of 16 cultural contributions from the Islamic World that are still relevant or valued today, then complete an activity grouping these accomplishments and explaining their relevance to their own lives. Sparks good discussion, especially when used to compare the advanced Islamic World to their contemporaries in Dark Ages Europe, who were about to launch a Crusade to the Middle East. Can be used in a variety of ways as a lesson; jigsaw, gallery walk, intro to additional research, notes, or just quick information.

Before beginning this project I suggest having students learn more about the rise of Islam by using my "Middle Ages: Muhammad & The Rise of Islam and the Islamic Empire".
